Wasike Hospitality Project - Diani
Scope: Building shell, external and interior plastering, rendering, screeding, electrical, plumbing, tile work
The Brief
The client engaged Keith Interiors for the shell of a storey building in Diani, covering exterior and interior finishes. The confirmed scope is external and interior plastering, electrical, plumbing and tile work. The property is aimed at a specific niche of clients, and the client wanted a coastal, boho-inspired finish to attract them.
Design Approach
The aesthetic is coastal and boho-inspired, tailored to the guests the property is designed to attract. Because the finish is built through plastering, rendering and screeding, the quality of the substrate shapes the result.
Execution
Keith Interiors was engaged for the building shell and the interior and exterior finishes, including plastering, rendering and screeding. A key challenge was uneven masonry, which increased material consumption beyond initial expectations. The team responded by assessing site conditions carefully, preparing accurate detailed BOQs that reflect the actual substrate requirements, and structuring the works accordingly to control cost and avoid unnecessary variations.
Outcome
Project in progress. The strongest proof point so far: the masonry issue was identified early, its impact was quantified accurately, and the works were structured to maintain cost and scope control.
